What a wonderful world....

So, there isn't much new to post... Life is pretty slow right now.
Friday I went up to the Hunstman Cancer Institute to meet the other surgeon who will be assisting Dr. Randall in the surgery. He was SO nice. And he really helped me feel more at ease. He was very genuine, and he seemed to care a lot about me and my well-being.
My surgery is scheduled for October 10th. Hopefully that day works out for both of my Dr.s.
If not it will be the week after. I am getting really anxious, and I really just want to get it over with.

After my surgery I will be heading down to Arizona to stat with my parents while I recover. Which means I will be leaving behind my dear husband. (sniffle sniffle)
But it will be easier on me and Archer because I will be in a sling for 4-6 weeks. So taking care of a new born is going to be pretty difficult without full time help.
Its going to be really really hard not having Callan around. But we both know that it is for the best.
We will be back up in Utah for Thanksgiving though, and to have a BIG party for Callan before he leaves.
I am going to miss him like CRAZY!
Well, until next time...

Here is a cute video of Archer, dont mind my creeper voice...haha

2 Month Check up and other things

Archer had his 2 month checkup yesterday.
Poor little bug had to get his shots and have his PKU done.
He didn't seem to mind the PKU so much. He just seemed rather irritated that I wouldn't hold him. And yes, I know he is a baby but that kid can give you an evil glare when he wants to.
Then came the part that broke my heart. His 3 shots right into the leg. He was crying the saddest little cry I have ever heard. And as soon as it was over he just held onto me and was not going to let go any time soon.

The Dr. did his exam and it turns out Archer has a herniated belly button just like his daddy did. Apparently it's nothing to worry about though! And here is the cool part...well not really that cool, sad actually but its just cool because my MOMMY-RADAR is working...So I just had this feeling that something was wrong with Archer in the manly department. And it was just a feeling that I couldn't shake so I looked up a few things. I came across an article that I felt explained Archer to a T. But of course I just thought I was being paranoid, and forgot about it.

So when the Dr. was checking Archer down there he said "Ahh, I knew it, come here and look at this mom" And just as the article said, Archer has Congenital Hydrocele. Which basically means a valve in his scrottum didn't close when his stuff dropped. So they fill up with fluid and can cause problems if it is not taken care of.
Which is SO sad. No wonder the kid has the biggest set of junk I have ever seen. And that is exactly why he is always so sad whenever I wipe them. Because it HURTS!

Well, he may have to have surgery. So we need to watch it the next few weeks, and if it doesn't start to go away then they will have to go in and repair, and drain the fluid. My poor poor little monster! I feel so bad for him. But I guess it is a same day procedure. So that's good! But I do have MOM-DAR!
It was an unfortunate way of finding out though....

Archer stats:

Weight 11 lbs 15.5 oz     50th percentile
 Height 22 inches            25th percentile

He is a little on the short side. But Dr. Corry said it is because he was born a tad bit early.
He should grow up to be big and strong and tall like his daddy.

I took a video of Archer's little cry. He is so tired he can hardly stay awake to cry. Its so sad :(

All day today and the rest of the day yesterday he has been SOOO sleepy, and very clingy. I feel so bad for the kid. He is miserable.

In other news:

Friday I meet with Dr. Hunt to talk about my surgery. I have never met this guy, so it will be nice to get to know the guy who will be operating on me. I will post more about that later.

Anyways other then Dr. appointments and getting Callan ready for Basic training nothing much is going on!

Stay tuned for our next adventure.
Until Next Time.

Grandmas 60th Birthday Weekend

This weekend started out Friday with Archer and I waiting for my mom, sister, and brother to fly in. My dad and my other brother were flying in on Saturday morning so it was just the 3 of them. After we picked them up we went to lunch and to pick up my grandma and grandpas birthday cake. Red Velvet Cheesecake from the fabulous Cheesecake factory! Can you say TO DIE FOR?!  After that we went back to my grandmas to await the rest of the hooligans, and kick off our weekend! We had a big, fun cousin sleepover Friday night. All of my grandmas kids, and grandkids were all at the house Friday night. It was close quarters. But it was such a blast.
Don't you just love her decorations???

Saturday Morning we woke up and and it was time for the Grandma/ Grandkids date. We went to Thanksgiving point to the petting zoo. It was so much fun. There were a ton of crafts and animals! I wish Archer was old enough to know what was going on because it was such a cute little place to take kids! Honestly... do I really have that mindset now? "Its a cute place to take kids" Well, you know you're a mom when.....

After the petting zoo we all went to The Pizza Pie Cafe for a yummy lunch. Then headed to my grandmas to open presents and get ready for family pictures! I can't wait to get them back! :) Then the adults headed to a yummy steakhouse called Carvers for dinner. We had such a fun weekend. It was so nice to have every one of us there for my grandmas 60th b-day! She loves her family so much, so it was nice we could all make it.

I love you grandma! Happy Birthday!!!

A kick off to FALL

Today was a beautiful Sunday! Fall starts next Saturday! We are excited. Fall is my favorite season. My grandma came today to take us all on a ride up the canyon. It was such a fun day! We stopped at Village Inn first, to get some lunch. And then headed up Big Cottonwood canyon to Silver Lake to hike around and see if any of the leaves had started changing colors. I don' think it has been col enough yet though, because we didn't see any leaves. Hopefully by this weekend for my grandmas 60th b-day!

Archer did so good. It was kinda cold though, so we had a blanket put over his stroller to keep him nice and warm. I didn't really buy him any winter clothes, except for 3-6 months. And he is still in newborn! And he doesn't even fit in them all! So I am debating on weather to buy him winter clothes or not.... we are headed to Arizona in November.... hmmm.... another thought for another day!

Isn't Utah just BEAUTIFUL? I love this state for all of the different terrain. It is a gorgeous state! This is all in my back yard. I LOVE it!
