I'll post a few pics, and catch y'all up.
Turkey Day:
We spent it with friends. I hosted, and we had everyone bring side dishes. The amazing thing about being in the military, is how much the community wants to help us out. The USO have each military family E5 and under a whole turkey, and all the things to make a huge thanksgiving dinner. Which saved us a lot of money! It was great. We are so blessed by the kindness of others. I love being a military family.
Christmas:
My family came! They got here around midnight Christmas Eve. I hadn't seen them for a few months. I was SO excited! They spent the week with us. They got to see Archer open his presents, which was so much fun. We went to DC, and explored. We got to see the beautiful DC Mormon temple. SOOO pretty! We played games, got family pictures, ate...ate, and are some more. It wouldn't be the Christmas season if you didn't gain a few pounds.
My Birthday:
February 7th. We had so much fun. I got to spend the whole day with Archer. He wanted to get started bright and early. 5:30am it was great.... Callan worked a 12 hour shift that day. But he took me, archer and some friends of ours to a delicious dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. YUUUMM. If you have never been, get over there. Their portions are HUGE. So be prepared for leftovers galore. I recommend their mashed potatoes. They are divine. I felt like I had died and gone to heaven. Obviously their cheesecake is pure perfection. My favorite is the red velvet. I actually have some in my fridge right now.... Oh so good.
More updates:
I started school. Being a military spouse I receive a scholarship that pays for my entire associates degree. It's fantastic. I'm getting my associates in criminal justice. My goal is to be a criminal profiler. I've always loved he psychological side of crime. It's creepy, dark, and so beautiful. I am a strange duck. But it's always been so fascinating or me. I want to know what makes criminals tick, what makes them do what they do. I want to be able to help catch the bad guys, and help make the world a better place. After I get my associates, I plan to get my bachelors in psychology. After that.... We will see!
Archer is doing great! He's been such a funny little guy. He has started to "help" with things. The other day he spilled water on the carpet, and he ran away saying "utoh" and disappeared for a minute. When he came back, he had a towel, he ran toward the spill, and started to scrub it out. I was SHOCKED. I had never tried to teach him that. He had just seen me do it before, and caught on. It amazes me every day how much the observe and learn from us. I finally understand the saying "children learn from example". It's so true, archer watches us constantly. We are his teachers.
Callan is great too. He has been nominated for Airman of the month twice. He got it once, the second time he didn't even know he was nominated so he wasn't able to study for the boards questions. They randomly told him the morning of. He was like wait, what? Haha poor guy, he still did a great job, and we are so proud if him. He working a crazy shift. 2 days from 7am-7pm then 2 days from 7pm-7am. Then 4 days off. It's a crazy schedule. But he's a trooper. Plus we love having him for 4 days in a row. He's lost 15lbs in 2 weeks just by eating a low carb diet. He looks great!
Anyway, life is pretty normal. For us anyway...
We love living in Maryland. It's a lot of fun! We love visitors, so come see us. You will have your ow bedroom and bathroom!
Until our next adventure.....
