Well, it's been quite a while since I have gotten the time to update my blog! So I will be posting our recent activity in my next few posts so I can get caught up! Well the reason I haven't been up to posting too much, is that I have been WAY to busy.
Sir Archer decided to make his appearance on July 13 2012 at 10:35 pm
He weighed 7lbs and was 21 inches long.
We went into the OB Emergency Room at the University of Utah hospital on Wednesday night because I had peed pure blood. TMI sorry! So they checked my blood pressure which had sky rocketed once again. They decided to check me into the Labor and Delivery and induce my labor that night. Uhhh crazy!
Since my blood pressure was so high I had to have a magnesium drip which was awful! It made me SOOO sick, and made me so out of it. I also had the epidural which was AMAZING!! The only thing was I wasn't dilated AT ALL, and being my first pregnancy we had to wait 48 hours before my cervix decided to open. And let me tell you, those 2 days were horrible!
I was so sick, and so hungry, and just wanted to get him out! I wasn't allowed to get out of bed AT ALL because of my blood pressure, and the magnesium drip They tried every induction method possible for 2 days, and they had broken my water, so we had 24 hours to get him out, or it would be a c-section.
Finally my mom and I were just hanging out at 10:00pm and I honestly felt something DROP, but since I hadn't been progressing at all, and when they had checked me a half hour earlier and I was on at a 4, I didn't think anything of it. Callan had gone to take my siblings to our apartment so if I had Archer any time soon they could be close by.
The nurses came in a few minutes later and checked me again, and I had dilated to a 91/2!! But they said it would take about an hour to get to a 10, and that I would be pushing for a while. So I quickly called Callan, and within 20 minutes I was ready! It was crazy! My Dr. couldn't make it to the delivery so I had all of the on call staff, who were amazing! I pushed for 10 minutes and he was out! It was only 8 pushes! And he had to be rushed over to a table to get the mecconium sucked out of his poor little lungs. Which is exactly what happened to me when I was born! It was LONG labor and the easiest part was pushing! Well, thats my labor and delivery story. Haha
